Providing wholesome fun in Annapolis, Pirate Adventures offers Family Fishing Adventures for children. Docked on Carrol’s Creek, their Sea Dragon vessel is ready to ferry kids and parents on a joyful and unforgettable fishing adventure.
Manning the helm, Captain Smee, also known as Chris Hendershot, will entertain young anglers throughout the journey. Chris is excited to share his fishing and crabbing wisdom with families aboard. Locals and visitors are welcome to come aboard, and the Family Fishing Adventures runs from spring to fall.
Tour Overview
In 2016, Family Fishing Adventures started sailing, and it has increased in popularity since then. Please make your reservations early as seating on the Sea Dragon is limited to 20 passengers, and weekends are typically in high demand.
Chris is an expert at knowing the best fishing holes on the Severn River along the shores of the Naval Academy. Kids will be taught how to properly bait a hook, tie a lure to a fishing line, and cast with light fishing gear. All fishing is catch and release, so all fish caught will get a fair opportunity to grow bigger for future anglers.
Children on Family Fishing Adventures will also learn why crabbing can be fun in the Chesapeake Bay. They will be shown how to bait crab traps and haul them up to retrieve the catch.
Fun for Families
Family Fishing Adventures is a wonderful way to introduce kids to fishing without spending a lot on boats and equipment. Chesapeake Bay fishing charters are too costly for the average family, and they are not focused on children.
The tour brings a fun approach for getting children interested in fishing. The Sea Dragon was designed for safely accommodating kids and their fishing activities. Pricing of tickets is intended to be family affordable, and the adventure brings lots of value by running for one hour and 45 minutes.
Families or groups interested in a private excursion can rent the Sea Dragon in advance. Discounted outings for boy scouts and girl scouts are available, and they will get participation patches after completing the tour. Field trips for kids can be arranged to cover educational topics such as the marine life and ecology of Chesapeake Bay.
