Amazing Blue Angels at Naval Academy Commissioning Week 2022
April 11, 2022
Fun Spring Things to Do in Anne Arundel County – Part 1
April 18, 2022Get ready for the long-awaited return of Annapolis’ beloved First Sunday Arts Festival (FSAF) on May 1, 2022! The event is Chesapeake Bay’s foremost street arts festival. A one-of-a-kind arts & crafts show, the FSAF will be held on the first Sunday of every month from May through November in 2022.
Spend a relaxing Sunday in the Arts District of Annapolis and check out the work of more than 130 local artists and craftspeople. Live entertainment will be provided by artists performing demonstrations and sidewalk street musicians.
History
Founded in 2001, the FSAF was created when two popular art receptions that were held at the ARTFX gallery and 49 West Coffeehouse on the first Sunday night of every month became so overcrowded that people spilled onto the sidewalks. Several businesses on West Street subsequently joined in, and the street festival expanded into a day-long affair that was dubbed the First Sunday Arts Festival.
In June 2016, the festival expanded one more time to accommodate more craftspeople and artists. The Annapolis Arts District area between Lafayette Avenue and Calvert Street was added to provide space for 30 more booths. Since 2001, more than 1,000 artists and performers have displayed their talent at the First Sunday Arts Festival.
Event Details
Sunny or rainy, every FSAF will run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on every first Sunday of the month from May 1 to November 6, 2022. The events are fun and can be enjoyed by people of all ages. Attendance is free, and the festival is located at the intersection of West Street and Calvert Street.
