May 29, 2022
Health Benefits of Oysters
June 3, 2022Great news for new music lovers! Celebrating local music for 25 years, Eastport a Rockin’ (EAR) will be returning on Saturday, June 25, 2022 to entertain Chesapeake Bay music fans after last year’s pandemic cancellation.
More than 40 bands from the region will perform on four stages during one great day of music. Proceeds from the event will aid the Annapolis Maritime Museum and local good causes like the Annapolis Musicians Fund for Musicians, Eastport Elementary School, and Eastport Volunteer Fire Department.
Background
First held in 1997 thanks to founder James Borchelt, EAR was intended to give local musical artists an opportunity to introduce themselves to bigger crowds. The event has attracted larger audiences every year ever since.
After more than two decades, Eastport a Rockin’ has become the Chesapeake region’s premier summer music festival. In 2016, EAR added a fourth stage at the Horn Point Marina, giving more groups a chance to strut their stuff.
The Bands
Brand new bands will perform along with more established groups. In more than 20 years, Eastport a Rockin’ has given crowd-pleasing local bands their debuts. EAR is especially fun for music lovers because there is a nice mix of musical genres like rock n’ roll, jazz, funk, blues, folk, roots, and bluegrass.
