The Anne Arundel County Fair (AACF) 2022 invites you and your family to say, “Hay!” You and your loved ones will have a ton of healthy family-friendly fun in the countryside from September 14 to 18 in Crownsville.
There will be a lot at stake in good-natured sporting competitions such as hog calling, pig races, tractor pulling, and watermelon eating.
If you have children, they will have a ball at the fair’s amusement rides, magic shows, interactive car races, and petting the cute 4H Club animals.
For those who love to shop, booths will be selling craft-brewed beer, handcrafted furniture, and homemade wine.
One-of-a-kind special Christmas decorations will also be on sale for those who hate procrastinating and like to be ready for the holidays in advance.
Mrs. Lee of Annapolis began organizing the AACF in early 1952. The Maryland State Fair Board eventually approved the event, and the Anne Arundel County Fair made its debut at the old Labrot Race Track that year in September. In 1984, AACF made the move to Crownsville, now its permanent location.
In December 1990, Uncle Harve, the giant lumberjack inspired by the legendary Paul Bunyon, jumped off the Baldwin Service Center roof after standing guard for around 15 years.
20-foot tall Uncle Harve accepted the Baldwin family’s long-standing employment offer in April 1991. He now greets visitors by holding an enormous welcome sign at the Anne Arundel County Fair’s gates all year around.
