If you’ve ever scrambled to organize a celebration for Father’s Day, this year take the easy way out by hosting a crab feast with no cooking! You won’t have to sweat standing over a BBQ grill like good old Dad did every 4th of July.
Let The Crab Shack prepare the crab and all the side dishes while you enjoy the day! The ultimate easy way is dining at their two new locations. Second easiest is ordering out and hosting the party at home. Click on the links for the menus of the Crofton and Edgewater locations for more information.
Those of us who live in the Chesapeake Bay State know Maryland Blue Crab is the best crab there is. Hands down! So, make sure you have enough for all your guests. Let’s say you are hosting six people, including Dad – you should get at least 3 dozen male crabs.
First off, you know it is going to be messy. You should host the party on the patio or outdoors. When the cracking begins, crab parts will be flying. After the cracking, you will need to dispose of the shells. We recommend a long wide table that gives people enough elbow room for the cracking.
Below are recommendations for supplies. All the crab, sides, salads, soup, appetizers, and desserts you will ever want can be ordered at The Crab Shack.
Take the butcher paper and wrap it around the table. Use masking tape to keep it in place. Place the paper towels and wet wipes in locations where everyone can reach them. Place salad plates and pasta bowls around for disposing crab shells. And don’t forget – everyone should get a wood mallet.
